Bring a Dish, Desert, DVD or Board Game to share – the Elgin Alano Club will be OPEN for friends and visitors on Thanksgiving Day!  We will be conducting an Alcathon of Meetings in Unit C between 11:30 – 4:30 pm, plus there will be a feast of treats to share!  Check out our gift shop, big screen TV and members lounge, kids room and lots more!

Please Note: Our regular closed meeting will be in session at 1:30 pm in a private area of EAC.

EAC Cook-Out, Fellowship & Fireworks – Membership Key Swap Open House

Saturday, July 1st @ 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm

You’re invited to our Annual Independence Day Weekend celebration along Riverside Drive Promenade!

Join us for an evening of sobriety and recovery!  Our festivities will be held in the roped-off rear EAC parking lot area and along Riverside Drive Promenade. We will have the club open, tables setup outside for dinning and will be raising monies by selling Monster Drinks and Glo-Trinkets to the general public.

* Suggested Donation  – $3 Members, $5 Non-Members & Kids Eat Free! Riverside Dr. will be Closed to Vehicle Traffic

2017-2018 Membership Key Exchange will be conducted at our July 1st event – Reminder: Locks will be changed end of June, please renew your membership Online or In-Person to retain access to the club!

The Fourth of July fireworks will be on July 1st at 10:30pm. Riverside Drive will be closed for this so that residents can view the display, we will reserve our own seating section out on the promenade for the best views, like last year!

“Have a Heart” Community Dinner

“Longtime Community dinners assistant Chef Tony A. will be making his family gravy recipe for the competition on behalf of the Elgin Alano Club, a non-profit membership organization for individuals and families in long-term recovery located in Downtown Elgin.”

A free community dinner featuring a spaghetti sauce (AKA gravy challenge) with entries from local restaurants, nonprofits and notable individuals. The dinner will also include mini desserts , free music, games for the kids and much more!

Since our first Thanksgiving dinner in 2009, these get togethers have truly evolved into “community” events. Everyone is welcomed and many people from all walks of life have become friends. It is a time to get together, meet others and share a meal. Our dream for these dinners is to grow them into community wide “family” dinners just like you would have in your own home…just a bit bigger. Where everyone does their part and then sits to enjoy each other and the food at the same time.

Because of all of the support from our donors, partners, volunteers and patrons, these dinners are evolving into just that.

Please come join us at the Community Dinner. Please spread the word.
